Campfire Ribs

Dutch Oven Campfire Braised Ribs

Serves 4 · Prep 20 min · Cook 2½–3 hours

You'll need

  • 3 lbs country-style pork ribs
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp Dusty's Original Blend
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp butter

Directions

Season the ribs generously with Dusty's Original Blend.

Heat the Dutch oven over campfire coals and brown the ribs on all sides.

Remove the ribs and sauté the onions and garlic until softened.

Return the ribs to the Dutch oven.

Add the apple cider, chicken broth, brown sugar, and butter.

Cover with the lid and cook over medium campfire coals for about 2½ to 3 hours, rotating the oven every 20 minutes and placing fresh coals on the lid as needed.

The ribs are done when they're fork-tender and nearly falling apart.

Serve with campfire potatoes, grilled corn, or baked beans.

Camp Tip

Finish the ribs directly over the grill for 5 minutes to caramelize the outside and add a little smoky char.
