Est. somewhere up the trail
Our Story
Some of my best memories have been made around a campfire in the California Sierras. I've been going to the same areas every year for as long as I can remember — and more recently my kids and our Bernese mountain dog Barley have been coming with me.
We've had some good nights up there. We've also had a few close calls with the local wildlife. If you've camped the Sierras, you know what I mean. Those encounters are where Dusty came from — he felt like the right mascot for a brand born in those mountains.
I've spent years owning restaurants and breweries, so cooking has always been a big part of my life. But there's something about cooking over a fire with your kids that no commercial kitchen can touch.
The problem was always the same: too many jars, too much to pack, too many decisions at the campsite. So I started mixing my own blends — something simple that worked on fish we caught that afternoon, steak on the cast iron, vegetables on the coals.
That became Dusty's Trail Dust.
One seasoning in the camp box.
Food tastes better around the fire.
